I’ve got something exciting for you today that can literally help you speed up the path to reaching your goals. As promised on Tuesday I will be giving you the Ultimate Habit Checklist today but first... a story!
I had an amazing conversation with a couple of clients this week. This husband and wife team joined our community in March of 2019. They started exercising and coming to class 3 days a week. Results were happening but they were slow because do you know what they didn't fix? THEIR DIET! Fast forward a few months and they fell off the exercise wagon, which is ok, it happens! Several months went by and they hopped back into classes. They were excited to finally be back in class and hopefully start to see some progress, but still no diet fix, and they fell off again!
This is a perfect example of the habits you keep will make or break your success. They can either set you up for the win or keep you “stuck” in a never ending loop of frustration (and no one wants that). It was time to break the cycle …
In May when our gym re-opened after being closed for two months the couple came back in and this time they said... "we are happy to be back in the gym and this time we changed our diet too"! I was so proud of them but this week they told me they are still eating healthy and crushing their goals. The husband has lost 30 lbs and the wife is down 17 lbs. I was proud of them before and now I am even more. They are resilient! Now they have their diet on track, they are crushing it in the gym, and the results are showing!
Their story reminded me of a quote I read this week... “Do something. If it works, do more of it. If it doesn't, do something else.” ― Franklin D. Roosevelt
It is amazing how simple that principle seems but it is not easy in practice. People always want to do what they know, WHY, because it is habit. Change is uncomfortable but necessary for growth. An interesting study a few years ago found that as many as 45% of the things we do every day are habitual. That’s pretty crazy when you think about it …
That means almost half of what we do every single day is done pretty much on autopilot.
What if, over time, you could upgrade your 45% so that it helps you achieve your goals, instead of holding you back? I’m talking about changing small everyday activities to help you:
● Live a healthier and more active lifestyle
● Eat better quality food that makes you feel good
● Feel more positive and confident
● Have more energy
● Develop deeper and stronger relationships
In The Ultimate Habit Checklist & Mini Guide, I outline a simple process to make that happen. In fact, “simple” is the operating word here because the goal is to make it as easy as possible!
