… it’s a GROWTH MINDSET.
It’s having the BELIEF that you are capable of learning new skills, achieving great goals, developing new habits, or doing whatever you set your mind to.
Here are just a few steps you can take to build your mindset:
1. Put yourself in a positive environment. Surround yourself with people who support and empower you to be your best self. Read self development books, listen to podcasts, and seek out mentors who inspire you.
2. Watch your words and inner dialogue. Replace negative thoughts and words with positive ones. This makes a huge difference.
3. Know that “perfect” doesn’t exist. Find ways to enjoy the journey of reaching your goals instead of chasing perfection. It’s all about who you BECOME in the process.
4. Follow your own path. Focus on your strengths (versus any perceived weaknesses) and use them to power you forward.
In the long run, consistent effort will get you a LOT farther than natural talent! I had this conversation recently with a client when the scale wasn’t moving. I said you have had a lot of things come your way lately that have caused volatility in your life and your diet. Once you can get to a place of consistency the scale will move. Sure enough she took those words and kept pushing forward, it was not perfect but it was consistent and now she has lost 25 lbs! Get out there and keep trying. Set goals and crush them.
